General Yamamoto founded the shinigami academy about 2000 years before ichigo become a shinigami or soul reaper.Yamamoto was himself a teacher at this academy, and personally instructed Kyōraku and Ukitake. When they became captains, he "boasted about them as though they were his own sons.there are 13 squads each squad wears a gotei 13 symbol on their clothes but they in ach symbol they have a different symbol inside the gotei each squad must have a captain and a luitenent.Most Gotei 13 personnel wear the standard shinigami uniform, called shihakushō (死覇装, lit. garment of dead souls?) - a white kosode, a black kimono and hakama, and a white obi sash. Lieutenants sometimes also wear an armband which carries their division symbol and its number, usually on their left arm. They are required to do this when they are summoned to a meeting.
